What is it

Elbow pain is often linked to overload of the tendons that move the wrist and fingers, typical of people who use their hands a lot at work or in sport.

What can cause it

  • Repeated gripping and twisting
  • Sudden increase in load
  • Sub-optimal sports technique

How we treat it

  • Tendon load management
  • Progressive strengthening exercises
  • Manual therapy of elbow, wrist and neck when appropriate

What to expect

Tendinopathies respond well to exercise but require consistency: improvement is gradual over several weeks.

How to prevent it

  • Alternate repetitive tasks
  • Strengthen forearm and shoulder

Do I need rehabilitation?

Recommended if pain persists despite rest or limits your grip.
