Frequently asked
questions.
Answers to the questions we hear most often. Can't find yours? Write to us.
Do I need a doctor's referral?+
No, physiotherapists are healthcare professionals you can see directly. If the assessment shows anything that needs medical attention, we'll refer you to the right specialist.
Where is the clinic?+
The clinic is hosted at IM Beauty, Piazzale G. Marconi 21, Trecastagni (Catania), in a private room dedicated to physiotherapy.
What happens in the first session?+
The first session is a private appointment, just you and your physiotherapist. It includes an interview about your history and goals, a physical assessment, a first treatment and your home exercise plan.
What should I bring?+
Any medical reports, scans (X-rays, MRI, ultrasound) and a list of the medications you take. Wear comfortable clothes that allow the area to be assessed.
How many sessions will I need?+
It depends on the problem, how long you've had it and your goals. At the end of the first session you'll receive an estimate, updated at each reassessment.
How does online booking work?+
Leave your name and mobile number and, if you like, your preferred day and time and a short description of your problem. The request is not an appointment yet: we'll contact you to confirm day and time.
What are the opening hours?+
Appointments only, usually Monday to Friday 9am–1pm and 4–8pm. Hours may vary depending on shifts at Humanitas: we'll agree on the time that suits you best.
Can I cancel or reschedule?+
Yes, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer the slot to someone else.
Is treatment painful?+
Treatment is always adapted to you. Some exercises may cause mild, controlled discomfort, but the goal is for you to feel safe and comfortable at all times.
How long is a session?+
It depends on the type of programme and you'll be told when you book. The first visit is usually longer, because it includes the interview and the assessment.
How much does it cost and how do I pay?+
Fees are shared with you before you book, so you always know the cost in advance. Payment is made at the clinic; details are on the Cancellations and payments page.
Is the clinic part of the Italian National Health Service?+
No, it is a private clinic: no referral forms or waiting lists.
Will I have exercises to do at home?+
Almost always: a few clear exercises that fit your day. They are an important part of the programme, because progress is also built between sessions.
I've tried other treatments without results: is it worth trying?+
Yes. We start again from a careful assessment to understand what keeps the problem going and what hasn't worked so far; if something needs another specialist, I'll tell you straight away.
Do you treat young people and minors?+
Yes. Minors need the consent of a parent or guardian, who usually attends at least the first visit.
Do you work with athletes and sports clubs?+
Yes: from amateurs to competitive athletes, up to prevention programmes for teams and coaches. See the Sport and Partnerships pages.
What happens when the programme ends?+
You get a plan to keep your results and guidance to manage any discomfort on your own. If needed, you can come back for a check-up.
How is my data handled?+
Health data is used only for your care and kept in line with the GDPR. All details are in the privacy notice.
